Lincoln Park West Apartment

Chicago, Illinois

This single floor, 3,900 sf apartment is located in a historic 1916 apartment building overlooking Lincoln Park. A contemporary remodeling of all spaces was completed while retaining and restoring original neo-classical and Viennese Secessionist design elements. The portal between the living and dining room was widened and historic moldings restored or recreated. The wood parquet floor was ebonized and the original curved double hung windows were restored.

A spacious entrance gallery opens to the living room featuring a honed petit granit fireplace. The former dining room was transformed into a family room with access to the kitchen. The portal to this room was raised in order to showcase a restored plaster trellis ceiling.

The kitchen features lacquer cabinets, a custom stainless steel exhaust hood, and honed Carrara countertops, wall cladding, and island.
