VHA served as historical architect for the restoration of this historic site. Working closely with lead architect Middleton Associates, VHA prepared an architectural analysis, room descriptions, materials conservation research, an historical narrative of the Davis family and site, furniture inventory, landscape analysis, and a color and finish analysis.
VHA developed recommendations for a phased restoration of the site, its interpretation for visitors, and a program for ongoing preservation and maintenance. Significant materials were studied to determine characteristics and methods of their original installations, any changes to the original fabric, and recommendations for conservation.
